Our story, the lounge, and the family behind it.

BBQ City Cigars didn't set out to be a cigar shop with a lounge attached — it set out to be a living room with a humidor in it. Here's the fuller story, what makes the lounge worth the drive, and the sister companies that make up the rest of the family.

Our Story

Built for cigar people, right here in Lockhart.

BBQ City Cigars is the retail store and lounge at the heart of the Mexica family of brands, on State Park Road in Lockhart, Texas. We built this place around one idea: give people an honest reason to slow down with a good cigar.

"Chill, relax, and enjoy a good cigar with great company."

That's still the whole idea. This isn't a shop you run in and out of — it's a room designed to be sat in. Plush leather chairs, big screen TVs, a curated humidor, and a staff that treats aficionados and first-timers exactly the same — like family. Whether you're picking up a stick on your lunch break or settling in for a whole afternoon with friends, the door's open and the chairs are comfortable.

We're proudly part of something bigger, too. BBQ City Cigars sits alongside Cisneros Tabacalera and Cut and Light Mobile under the Mexica family of brands — from the tobacco field, to the lounge, to the truck that brings the experience to you. More on that below.

Leather chairs. Big screens. No rush.

A warm, inviting room built to feel like a second living room — plush leather seating, big screen TVs for baseball, football, soccer, F1, and college sports, and a staff that's there to talk cigars, not upsell them. Come for one cigar and a quiet corner, or come for the whole game with a crowd.

02 — Walk-In Humidor

The Hard Ash Humidor.

The Hard Ash Humidor is where the curated boutique selection lives — house blends from our own Cisneros Tabacalera alongside guest brands from makers we trust, kept exactly the way a serious collection should be: proper humidity, proper rotation, no dust on the boxes. Ask staff for a walkthrough on your first visit — they'll point you toward something you'll actually like, not just something that's on sale.

03 — Estate Pipes

The largest estate pipe collection in Central Texas.

Antique and vintage pipes, restored and re-homed in-house, plus a wall of pipe tobacco blends and the accessories to go with them. Every pipe has a bit of history to it, and our staff can usually tell you what. If you're new to pipes, this is where you start — no pressure, just good conversation.
